VU meter is showing midi activity without anything

Postby ubaid88 » Wed Mar 25, 2009 11:08 pm

Well today I connected my analogue board. After connecting it, when I plugged power on. Sometime Vu meters on lcd are showing midi activity and led is blinking continuously.

Nothing is connecting on 20x2 pad connector. But still sometimes the first or few of the other vu meter are showing midi activity. This usually happen if I try move or touch the analogue pcb.

Everything else is working fine. The lcd and keypad are also fine. This when first time the analogue board is connected digital board.
I also like to remind that Iam using 1n5818 diode instead bat85.

MIDI LED activity and the top left VU meter activity is probably due to not having HH pedal connected and having 'AutoLevels' for the HH pedal set to Yes (which is default). In this case smallest signal level change on the HH input will be generating MIDI CC messages. You can either connect a HH pedal or change 'AutoLevels' for the HH pedal to No and adjust 'LowLevel' and 'HighLevel' until MIDI activity from the HH pedal stops.
Activity on any other inputs (VU meters) may be due to either too high sensitivity of your Analogue board version, in which case you need to raise 'Threshold' on all effected inputs, or due to loose cabling between the Analogue and Digital boards.
